- Low Input VSWR
In communication systems, in order to facilitate signal transmission and achieve channel reuse, the frequency of transmitted signals is very high, so frequency conversion of signals is an important aspect of communication system research. According to the situation before and after frequency conversion, it can be divided into down conversion (frequency reduction) and up conversion (frequency increase).
In the receiver, if the intermediate frequency signal obtained after mixing is lower than the original signal, then this mixing method is called block downconverters (LNBs).
The method of block downconverters is to multiply the received signal with the local oscillator signal generated by the local oscillator, and then obtain the converted signal through a low-pass filter. Two multiplied signals can be divided into real mixing and complex mixing through real or complex representation.
The purpose of block downconverters is to reduce the carrier frequency of the signal or directly remove the carrier frequency to obtain the baseband signal. Due to its simple circuit and low cost, the down conversion method is widely used in civilian equipment and military equipment with low performance requirements.
1. Satellite TV: LNBs are key components in satellite TV reception systems. They are installed at the focal point of a satellite antenna (paraboloid or dish), receive the TV signal transmitted by the satellite, and convert it into an intermediate frequency signal that can be processed by the receiver.
2. Satellite Internet: In satellite Internet systems, LNBs are used to receive Internet data transmitted from satellites. The user equipment receives the data through the LNB and decodes and processes it through the modem.
3. Satellite Communications: LNBs are widely used in various satellite communications systems, including satellite phones, satellite broadcasts, satellite data transmission, etc. They help receive and process various types of communication signals transmitted from satellites.
4. Earth Observation and Remote Sensing: In some Earth observation and remote sensing applications, LNBs are used to receive remote sensing data transmitted from satellites. These data can be used in meteorological monitoring, environmental monitoring, disaster warning and other fields.
In summary, LNBs play a vital role in modern satellite communication systems and are widely used in television broadcasting, Internet access, data communications and various professional fields.
Qualwave supplies various types of Block Downconverters (LNBs) in the S~Ka-Band, with a noise temperature of 45~240K. The terminationswith different type to meet the needs of customers.
