    Block Up Converters (BUCs)

Block up converter is a signal processor that converts low-frequency signals into high-frequency signals (usually without changing the information content and modulation method of the signal), making it suitable for specific devices or applications.

Block up converter, the input terminal of the frequency converter simultaneously acts on two signals, one is the input signal and the other is the local oscillation signal. The frequency conversion process is as follows: the output signal frequency is higher than the input signal frequency, that is, the input signal frequency is shifted in the direction of increasing. By mixing frequencies to generate new signals, signal frequency conversion is achieved, converting high-frequency analog signals into digital signals, thereby achieving tasks such as communication, navigation, and control in different frequency ranges.

The composition structure of a block up converter mainly includes a local oscillator, a mixer, and an oscillator. Due to the high intermediate frequency obtained by frequency conversion, higher requirements are placed on the intermediate frequency amplification, filtering, and demodulation in the receiver, resulting in higher overall receiver costs.

Block up converter can achieve extremely high anti image interference capability and obtain a very flat frequency response throughout the entire frequency band, which is widely used in fields such as satellite communication, radar, and electronic countermeasures.

    Application:

    1. Satellite Internet: In satellite Internet systems, BUCs are used to upconvert the intermediate frequency signal generated by the user-end equipment (such as a satellite modem) to a high-frequency signal and transmit it to the satellite through the satellite antenna. After the satellite receives the signal, it is transmitted to the ground station to achieve Internet connection.
    2. Satellite TV Broadcasting: In satellite TV broadcasting systems, BUCs are used to upconvert TV signals to high-frequency signals and transmit them to satellites through satellite uplinks. The satellite then relays the signal to ground receiving equipment, such as LNBs and satellite receivers.
    3. Satellite Communications: BUCs are widely used in various satellite communications systems, including satellite phones, satellite data transmission, video conferencing, etc. They help upconvert communication signals generated by ground stations and transmit them to satellites, enabling long-distance communications.
    4. Earth Observation and Remote Sensing: In some Earth observation and remote sensing applications, BUCs are used to upconvert control signals and data generated by ground stations and transmit them to satellites. These signals can be used to control satellite operations or transmit remote sensing data.

Qualwave supplies various types of Block Up Converters (BUCs)in the C, Ka, Ku-Band, with a output power of 33~56dBm. The terminationswith different type to meet the needs of customers.
