    A horn antenna is a planar antenna made of metal plate, usually used for microwave and millimeter wave signal transmission and reception.

    It generally consists of a rectangular metal mouth horn and a leading angle with reduced width on both sides. The received electromagnetic wave signal is transmitted to the horn mouth through the above-mentioned medium. Due to its gradually enlarged horn structure, the signal can be amplified and the receiving sensitivity can be improved, thereby achieving a good working effect. It can focus electromagnetic waves in a certain direction, thus enhancing the effect of signal transmission. Its advantages are simple structure, wide frequency band, low voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), large power capacity, convenient adjustment and use. Reasonable selection of horn size can also obtain good radiation characteristics.

    In terms of applications, horn antennas are very suitable for testing the performance of other antennas because their gain and standing wave ratio curves are very flat over the bandwidth range. Generally, horn antennas are used as directional antennas in radar and microwave radiometers; It is used as a feed horn in large antenna structures such as parabolic antenna. In other antenna test, it is used as calibration and test tool; In space communication, horn antenna is used in satellite communication to improve communication quality and distance.

    Standard gain horn antenna refers to a horn antenna with consistent high gain over a wide bandwidth range, which has stable performance, precise calibration, and high linear polarization purity. It is widely used as a standard antenna for antenna gain measurement, an auxiliary transmitting antenna for antenna measurement, a receiving antenna for antenna detection, a transmitting or receiving antenna for jammers and other electronic devices.
