Yagi Antenna is an end fired antenna composed of an active oscillator (usually a folded oscillator), a passive reflector, and several passive directors arranged in parallel. In the 1920s, Hidetsugu Yagi and Taiki Uta from Tohoku University in Japan invented this antenna, known as the "Yagi Uta Antenna" or simply the "Yagi Antenna".
1. Strong directionality: It has good directionality and can focus radio waves in a specific direction. The maximum radiation direction is the same as that of the director, effectively suppressing clutter and interference in non target directions.
2. Higher gain: Compared to dipole antennas, it has higher gain and can better capture distant signals, improving reception quality and clarity.
3. Simple structure: composed of active oscillators, passive reflectors, and several passive directors arranged in parallel, the structure is relatively simple, the materials are easy to obtain, the cost is low, and it is lightweight, sturdy, and easy to feed.
1. Communication field: Used for shortwave and ultra shortwave communication, such as long-distance radio communication, and can also be used as outdoor antennas for mobile phone signal amplifiers to enhance mobile phone signals. It can expand coverage range and improve signal strength in Wi Fi networks, suitable for connecting remote buildings or expanding large-scale coverage.
2. In the field of broadcasting and television, it is often used as a television receiving antenna, which can receive television signals in specific directions and improve the reception effect.
3. Radar field: Due to its directional and gain characteristics, it can be used for detecting targets in radar systems.
4. Other fields: It also has applications in industry, data acquisition and monitoring systems (SCADA), and scientific and medical purposes, such as wireless communication between remote data acquisition and monitoring equipment, as well as signal reception and transmission in some scientific experiments.
Yagi antenna has been widely used in many wireless communication fields due to its simple structure, relatively low manufacturing cost, and good performance.
